pronounced muh-rahd.

created out of the desire to write and connect with hip-hop, maraud. has transformed into a sense of freedom. inspired by A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders tape, maraud. blossomed into a lifestyle of creative agility, knocking down labels and barriers that may cross its path. although it’s defined as the act of looting and stealing, the negative connotation surrounding its nature has been adopted by an artist of free will, limitless potential and spontaneity; the only things that are stolen is time. it’s returned as great works of art.

at 16, founder Tanjae “WKDE (pronounced weekday)” Chairse was a sophomore in high school who was looking to find herself. her refuge was hip-hop, which molded her into the writer / creative and DJ that she is today. she had no idea that Midnight Marauders would be the soundtrack to her remaining high school years, as well as the gateway into the artistic culture that would shape her longing to create both sonically and visually. this is maraud.
